{"id":1191,"date":"2023-02-03T06:03:37","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T06:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dehadrai.in\/?p=1191"},"modified":"2023-02-03T06:31:08","modified_gmt":"2023-02-03T06:31:08","slug":"8-dumping-of-construction-debris-in-the-pushpa-bhadra-river-in-the-lower-himalayan-ranges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dehadrai.in\/index.php\/2023\/02\/03\/8-dumping-of-construction-debris-in-the-pushpa-bhadra-river-in-the-lower-himalayan-ranges\/","title":{"rendered":"Dumping of construction debris in the Pushpa-bhadra river in the lower Himalayan ranges"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>While on a trekking trip in the summer of 2019 to a remote village called <em>Jibhi<\/em> in the State of Himachal Pradesh, we discovered that construction debris was being indiscriminately dumped inside a pristine Himalayan river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon my return from the trip, I moved a petition before the National Green Tribunal at New Delhi, which issued stern directions to the Himachal district administration to investigate the dumping and to take prompt remedial action.
