SARK infraprojects Pvt. Ltd. v. Registrar of Companies, West Bengal: Company Appeal (AT) 72 of 2020

In a challenging Company Appeal seeking restoration of a firm struck off from the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal register, the Hon’ble National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), New Delhi ruled in favour of our client M/s Sark Infraprojects Pvt. Ltd.

Rashmi Dixit v. Medical Council of India & Anr.

In a significant win for patient rights and in particular the reproductive health of women, our Chamber appeared and won in an Appeal against the Medical Council of India (Now, National Medical Commission), the Delhi Medical Council and a doctor accused of medical negligence.

The Delhi Buses Case (Accessibility/Disability Law)

In 2017, I was approached by a young disability activist, Nipun Malhotra, who wanted to know if we could challenge the Delhi State Government’s proposed decision to acquire thousands of inaccessible public-transport buses. Nipun himself suffers from arthrogryposis, which severely limits his ability to move without a wheelchair and a modified van.

In December 2019, we provided pro bono representation to a young boy who became blind at birth because of medical negligence. Rishabh, was born prematurely and suffered from retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) which was ignored by his treating doctors.

Perhaps one of our most important on-going pro bono constitutional cases.We represent Paralympic Gold-medallist Manasi Joshi (she was on the cover of Time Magazine) pro bono in the Supreme Court, challenging the constitutionality of a taxing provision which imposes 5% tax levy on disability aids – such as prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, braille paper etc.

Dumping of construction debris in the Pushpa-bhadra river in the lower Himalayan ranges

While on a trekking trip in the summer of 2019 to a remote village called Jibhi in the State of Himachal Pradesh, we discovered that construction debris was being indiscriminately dumped inside a pristine Himalayan river.
