Obtained Orders from the Supreme Court of India against a mafia operation which was burning biomedical waste in a reserved forest inside Delhi (Pollution/Bio-Medical Waste)
In early 2020, just at the cusp of the Covid-19 pandemic, we represented a young law student, Ms. Harshita Singhal, who had discovered a mafia-ring which was collecting hundreds of tonnes of biomedical waste from Delhi hospitals, then clandestinely dumping in inside a reserved forest inside New Delhi, only to set it ablaze in the dead of the night. Our team risked their safety by getting to the dumping site and collected photographic evidence, which was later produced on affidavit before the Supreme Court of India. The Court immediately took note of the situation and a massive clean-up operation was ordered. The forest patch where the waste was being burnt has also been restored. I briefed Senior Advocate (equivalent of Queens Counsel) Mr. Atmaram NS Nadkarni to lead us in the matter.
